Tenants of Faith
CHRIST’S HEADSHIP
We acknowledge Christ as the head of our church and we submit ourselves and all we have and all our activities to His will and good pleasure (Eph. 1:22-23).
BIBLICAL TEACHING AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Christ as their Savior and that believers may mature in Him (2 Tim. 3:16).
GOD’S WORD
We acknowledge God’s Word as the supreme authority for our church and lives. We believe that the Word of God is powerful and informative. We believe that the Word of God gives us power to live a positive life. It gives us power to change our lives and alter the environment in which we live (Col. 3:16-17, Heb. 4:12-13).
AUTHENTIC WORSHIP
We desire to acknowledge God’s supreme value and presence and worth in our personal lives and in our corporate worship experience. We desire to worship Him in a contemporary style and with a traditional expression in which we address the worship temperament of each participant (Rom. 12:1-2)
PRAISE
traditional expressions of praise present within the African Religious experience (Psalm 150).
PRAYER
prayer in the conception, planning, and execution of all the ministries and activities of this church (Matt. 7:7-11).
FAMILY
We support the spiritual nurture of the family as one of God’s dynamic means to perpetuate the Christian faith. Families are important to our church. Therefore, we seek to help families grow spiritual and healthy (2 Tim. 1:5).
GRACE-ORIENTATION
We encourage our membership to serve Christ from hearts of love and gratitude rather than from guilt and condemnation (Rom. 6:14)
CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION
We acknowledge the fact that the church exist in a changing world. We seek to be a church that addresses the relevant needs of its members and the people around us without losing our Christian essence and biblical mandates. Therefore, we constantly evaluate our forms and methods, seeking cultural relevance and maximum ministry effectiveness (1Chron. 12:32).
EQUIPPED CONGREGATION
We acknowledge that Christ has imparted each believer with a spiritual gift that is to be used for the building of His kingdom. Therefore, we seek to prepare and equip the saints to effectively serve in our ministries (Eph. 4:11-13).
EVANGELISM
We value the unchurched and the lost and will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win, and disciple them to Christ (Luke 19:10).
MINISTRY EXCELLENCE
We believe that since God gave His best (the Savior), we seek to honor Him by maintaining a high standard of excellence in all our ministries and activities (Col. 3:23-24).
CHRISTIAN ETHICS
Christian manner that does not bring reproach upon the church body. We also believe that we are commanded by God to conduct ourselves properly with one another. We believe that we are to display the fruits of the Spirit as well deal with our sisters and brothers in Christ and as we deal in the world (Gal.5:16-26).
STEWARDSHIP
We believe that as Christians who are serious about God and the church that we are commanded by God to support that church financially. Giving and paying our tithes and offerings is not an option it is a command. We believe that because we financially support the church we are obeying God’s command by which we are blessed and receive favor. We also believe that paying our tithes and offerings is an awesome expression of our faith and worship to God. We also believe that 10% of our earnings starts our tithes and financial gifts (Lev. 27:30; Malachi 3:10; Deuteronomy 14:22; Hebrews 7:4; Luke 6:38).
